Terms and conditions

These Terms & Conditions govern your purchase of products and services from us, including blinds, curtains, shutters, tracks, installation services, and consultations.

1. Products & Services​

We supply custom-made window furnishings, including but not limited to:

• Roller blinds

• Roman blinds

• Venetians

• Curtains and drapes

• Motorised blinds

• Shutters

• Vertical blinds

• Outdoor blinds

• Installation services

Because many of our products are custom manufactured to your specifications, slight variations in colour, texture, and sizing may occur.

2. Quotes & Pricing​

• All quotes are valid for 15 days unless otherwise stated.

• Prices are listed in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and include GST unless specified otherwise.

• We reserve the right to change pricing at any time before an order is confirmed.

• Additional charges may apply for difficult installations, remote locations, or unforeseen site conditions.

3. Measurements​

Customers may either:

• Provide their own measurements, or

• Use our professional measure-and-quote service.

If customer-provided measurements are incorrect, Blinds Design is not responsible for replacement costs or remakes.

We recommend professional measuring for all custom products. Please supply all measurements in millimetres Width x Height

4. Orders & Deposits​

• Orders are confirmed once a deposit has been paid.

• Custom-made products typically require a 50% deposit before manufacturing begins.

• Remaining balances are due upon installation or prior to delivery unless otherwise agreed.

We reserve the right to cancel or refuse any order at our discretion.

5. Manufacturing & Installation Timeframes​

Estimated lead times are provided as a guide only and may vary due to:

• Supplier delays

• Shipping disruptions

• Fabric availability

• Public holidays

We will make reasonable efforts to keep customers informed of delays.

6. Cancellations & Returns​

Custom-Made Products

Due to the personalised nature of custom blinds and curtains:

• Custom orders cannot usually be cancelled once production has commenced.

• Custom products are non-refundable unless faulty under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act.

7. Warranty​

We provide warranties in accordance with New Zealand consumer law.

Roller blind fabric | 3-5 years

Honeycomb blinds | 3 years

25mm Aluminium blinds | 2 years warranty

Wooden & PVC venetian blinds | 3 year warranty

Vertical blinds | 2 years

Blind motors | 4 years 

Shutters | 

Curtain fabric | 

Curtain tracks | 2 years 

Outdoor blinds parts| 2 years

Outdoor fabric | 5 years

The warranty does not cover:

• Misuse or accidental damage

• Incorrect cleaning methods

• Normal wear and tear

• Damage caused by moisture, pets, or insects

• Improper installation by third parties

8. Child Safety​

Some window furnishing products include cords or chains that may present a hazard to young children.

We recommend the use of child safety devices and compliance with all applicable New Zealand safety standards.

Customers are responsible for supervising children around window coverings.

​9. Limitation of Liability​

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Blinds Design is not liable for:

• Indirect or consequential losses

• Delays outside our control

• Minor variations in fabric colour or texture

• Loss arising from incorrect customer measurements

Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under New Zealand consumer law.

 

10. Privacy​

Any personal information collected through this website is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We may collect information such as:

• Name

• Phone number

• Email address

• Property address

This information is used only for providing quotes, fulfilling orders, and customer communication.

11. Governing Law​

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand.

Any disputes arising from these Terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
